Forest Hills Competition

On Thursday, April 5th, we set off to Grand Rapids for our third and final competition. We got the pit set up and sent our scouters out, it was a good and easy day. Friday morning we arrived to Forest Hills Central High School, found a spot for our team in the bleachers, went to the drivers meeting and opening ceremony, then awaited for the first match to begin. The day went well and we never ran into any serious robot problems which was amazing! We ended the long day of matches in rank 23. After arriving back to the hotel, we looked through our scouting sheets just in case! Saturday, we played well, but ended up being ranked 26. Although we were not alliance captains, team 3452 (GreengineerZ / the number 2 alliance captain) selected team 2771 (Code Red Robotics the Stray Dogs) and us to power up with them! We made it all the way to the finals where we defeated by the number 1 alliance of teams 3357 (Comets / also the host team), 2337 (EngiNERDS), and 7248 (Tactical Hams / a rookie team). So, not only did we walk away with a red medal, but we were also given the spirit award for the second time this season! A big thanks to the GreegineerZ for selecting us and to Code Red for helping us get so far! We are very happy with how this competition and season overall went! We are currently ranked 173 in state, so it is pretty unlikely that we will get the opportunity to attend the Michigan State Championship this year, but we wish all the teams going good luck. We can't wait for the 2019 season!
