Proclamation to all the Kingdom of Vi-Borgs

The council of the ViBORGS met on January 11 in the year of the Lord 2016, and decreed the following:

1. That the RHINO track was not to be used, although thought otherwise previously, for it cometh only in an untimely manner, and has not proven worthy in battle.

2. Furthermore, the K of P chassis with 4 inch wheels will not prove adequate to traverse defensive barriers.

3. The K of P chassis can be adequate if modified for a “C” shaped opening in the front. The “C” shape is to be modified to no other than a “C” shape, and no other shape but a “C”. A “B” shape is not to be used, nor is a “D” shape. Rather than bore the kingdom to death stating every letter of the alphabet not to be used, and death of the ViBORGs is not good, we shall state that no other letter of the alphabet, or a non-alphabetical shape but “C” is to be used.

4. The K of P chassis as modified as stated above, and not to be repeated here, is to be used over a custom frame with C-channel. The C-channel custom frame could be built, but the K of P chassis can be used in a more timelier manner. Furthermore, it is just a coincidence that the letter “C” is in C-channel and a “C” opening shape, and nothing more is to be made of this coincidence. There are no secret messages here.

5. That the ViBorg robot will be low so as to traverse under the low beam. Not over the low beam, for to do so would require the robot to fly, and the robot is not a dragon. A dragon can fly over the beam, a robot cannot. The robot shall traverse under the low beam.

6. The Robot will be equipped with sonic shifters, with 2 speeds and pneumatic shifters, a high and low speed. There shall be 4 CIMM motors, as 4 CIMM motors and two gears renders much power to the robot and speed, each a desirable trait. The low gear allows the robot to push and move like the elephants of Hannibal’s army of old, whilst the high gear the robot can move like a knight on a charging horse. The gears will need to be changed in the sonic shifters, as they are designed for 4 inch wheels, and larger wheels will cause the robot to fly like a dragon, and it is against the natural law for a robot to fly like a dragon. If the robot were to fly like a dragon, such as if when crossing defense barriers with upward ramps, it would not land like a dragon, but would land like a robot and crash. Crash landings are not good for robots.

7. The driver of the ViBORG robot is not to cause it to fly like a dragon even if the build team creates such a robot. This is because dragons land like dragons, and robots land like robots and crash on landing. Crash landings are not good for robots. Nor are crash landings good for robots that they land on. Crash landing on other robots would undoubtedly violate the Rules of the Order of FIRST, and result in the robot being awarded little placards of vibrant colors of yellow, or red. These are not good for the robot nor for the alliance, for points are lost and other events of doom can occur, such as disqualification.

8. Drivers are to drive and compete within the rules of the order of FIRST at all times, because violate the rules of the game comes from the Dark side of the Force, and are not within the guidance of gracious professionalism.

9. The 4 inch wheels of the K of P are not deemed worthy to breach defensive barriers, and are not to be used. Wheels of unusual size (WUS) of 8 inch are to be used on the ViBORG robot. These wheels shall be affixed with pneumatic tires, as available from the Merchant AndyMark as described on the magical tablets of the internet. Such wheels were ordered on the magical tablets, but additional Daneguild was not authorized for pony express delivery for two days. The more standard, and lesser Daneguild, for five day delivery is acceptable. The pneumatic wheels will cushion the robot from the jolts and shock from running on such a wicked terrain as this playing field. These jolts and shocks are not good for robots. Dragons handle jolts and shocks, robots do not.

10. The Robot shall have a device for quickly loading boulders on the floor, as boulders are used to damage tower fortresses. Damaging the opponent’s tower is good, and robots that acquire and deliver the boulder to their target in a quicketh manner are deemed desirable to alliance partners at the Court of Alliance Partner Selection.

11. Scaling the opponents tower is a desirable trait and is to be pursued as another priority. This trait draws favorable attention of other teams and helps to become a chosen one at the Court of Alliance Partner Selection.

12. Going under the low beam defense is a high priority. Also, traversing a second type of defense is essential, as alliances may have more than one low design robot, and it may be necessary to cross a different barrier in the autonomous time period. More than two types may be pursued and the more the better as time allows.

13. It is believed very difficult for the design team to program the robot to reach, cross a barrier at different places, and to be able to place the boulder in a goal all in the autonomous period. It is a better use of the ViBORG limited resources to not try to place the boulder into a goal, but the hold on to the bolder and place the bolder in the goal at the TELEOP period.

I hearby declare this proclamation to be true. Gandalf.
